Call Began: 9:00AM
Breaks: 10:15AM-10:30AM Ended: 11:18AM Late: Cam Kittell (9:05AM) Sami Wurm (9:10AM) , Caroline T. (9:20AM) General: The cast did a full read through with Kat and Emma reading stage directions. Emma read the role of Victoria in scene 4 until Caroline Tattersfield arrived at 9:20. Kat allowed about 15 minutes after the read through for a debrief, during which various members of the cast discussed topics of symbolism as well as Wallace’s issues of trust. After a brief break, Kat conducted various exercises with the cast in hopes of allowing them to familiarize themselves with the rehearsal space, each other, and their characters. First, she led a movement exercise (explained in the movement section). Then, she had the cast get into pairs (using Emma to make an even number) and led the Meisner repetition game- during which she had the group switch partners 3 times. Finally, Kat used approximately 10 minutes at the end of rehearsal to give out information about the rest of the Women and Wallace rehearsal process. She stressed the importance of arriving to rehearsal on time as well as notifying her about any conflicts that may arise through the process. She also told the cast when and how rehearsal schedules would be released, and saved room for cast questions and concerns. Movement: We did a movement exercise with the full cast today. They walked around the space exploring their surroundings and experimenting with personal centers. Their goal was to move as their character would- and then to analyze how those movements made them feel. Emma made an initial props from the read-through (it was sent to Kat and Hutch after the rehearsal). This list only includes props as mentioned in the script and the location that they appear within the text. It is understood that this list is subject to change as rehearsals continue. |
