Rehearsal Report 9/11

Call Began:  6:00

Breaks: 6:21-6:30

Ended: 8:50

General:

We did work on scene 17. Since Sydney is sick, we ran the scene with just a high-five in place of the kiss (because we don’t want the rest of the cast getting sick as well). Kat worked on mostly drunk physicality with both Cam and Jon.

We did work for scenes 10 and 12. They also used a high-five in place of the kiss.

We ran scenes 2 and 18. We used general lighting for these scenes (described in lighting section)

We did work for scenes 16, 19, prologue and epilogue. They also used a high-five in place of the kiss.

Costumes:

We started to try on costumes today. Abby tried on her Sarah dress, Andrea tried on a black turtle neck for mother, and Jillian tried on a skirt and shirt for Nina.

Lights:

We played with using lights in both of the mother’s scenes. We tried switching to red as she kills herself, and then going to blackout. Emma ran the light system for two runs of each of the mother’s scenes.

Rehearsal 13

I worked on the Lili, Wendy, Sarah, Nina and Mother scenes. Sydney was sick so we only marked the intimacy. I also worked on the drunken quality of Wendy and Wallace in the scene and I had Jon and Cam take things to a 10 and overexaggerate their motions so that they could feel drunk.

Rehearsal Report 9/10

Call Began: 8:30

Ended: 10:00

General:

We ran scenes 3, 8, and 20 with Wallace and Grandma. We used the bed for the first time today. In all of these scenes, we had all of the set pieces and props that we need (except we need a picture of Andrea for inside of the frame- which we are taking at her next rehearsal). We ran each scene 2 times, and then went back and ran the very end of scene 3 a third time at the end of this

We ran scene 15 once, and then gave notes. This was their first time working with Wallace’s bed in this scene.

After Kat gave notes on scene 15, we did an exercise where the actors read through their lines as fast as they could. Then, they took that energy and put it into the scene for the next two runs of the show that they did.

Set:

We got Wallace’s bed and used it for the first time today. We also continued to use the set pieces that we’ve been using

Props:

We continued to use the props that we have been using. We didn’t have any new props today.

We need sheets, comforter, and pillows for the bed.

Rehearsal 12

We ran through the Grandma and Lili scenes today and it went well. We were just digging into the details of the scene and ironing out any awkward blocking. It is nice to have all of the set pieces finally except we need to finalize some props. The pacing has been getting a lot better and everyone seems to be getting more comfortable.

Rehearsal Report 9/9

Call Began: 6:30

Ended: 9:30

General:

Kat blocked all of the scene changes. We didn’t run through the scene changes, though – instead we spiked each of the set pieces, and planned who would move which pieces in each scene.

Fight call: (timing- 7 minutes 06 seconds )

Grandma/Wallace punch (scene 14)

Psychiatrist / Wallace punch (scene 14)

Victoria/ Wallace push (scene 4)

Nina/Wallace hit (scene 19)

Victoria stabbing (scene 14)

Mother death (scene 2)

Intimacy call: (timing- 3 minutes 08 seconds)

Victoria and Wallace (scene 7) (scene 14)

Sarah and Wallace (scene 10)

Lili and Wallace (scene 15)

Nina and Wallace (scene 16)

Wendy and Wallace (scene 17)

We ran all of the intimacy with just high fives in place of the kisses

We did some tongue twisters and shake-outs as a quick warm up before the stumble through

Stumble through (timing- 1 hour 46 minutes 03 seconds)

We ran through the entire show. Anjali and Meghan came to observe. Emma was on book (only Jon called for line- everyone else was entirely off-book). Emma also read the lighting cues. We didn’t stop during any of the scenes, however, we did have to pause a few times to get the scene changes right and to make sure all of the props were in place. The props and set pieces that we did not use today are listed in those sections.

After the run through, Kat gave the notes that she had taken throughout the run through.

Set:

We used all of the set pieces that we had.

We still don’t have Wallace’s bed. So, we used the black bench and some chairs as a make-shift bed.

Props:

We used all of the props that we had.

We are still missing:

zippo lighter

pictures for inside of the frames

sandwich props: bread, peanut butter, bananas

bags to put lunches in

tuna sandwich for victoria

mallo cups

Rehearsal 11

Today was the day of the stumble through! We did blocking for the scene changes although we will be doing a formal transition rehearsal later to finalize everything. We then ran fight call and then the intimacy call. We did warms ups (tongue twisters and moved our bodies around to shake everything out) and then everyone got into places. The stumble through went well and I feel good about where we’re at. The pacing will come with more runs and I feel confident in everyone.
